Dear Patsifans:

This website fired up exactly 9 years ago today. It was my way of proving that despite the sadness of the day, Patsy's spirit lives on. And she does live on, through you.

But I think that websites, like people, have life spans… and this has been a terrific run.

For the time being, Patsified! will remain up as simply a tribute to the best damnedest singer who ever walked on the face of this earth; however, I will no longer be updating it and I will no longer be available through email here.

There isn't a single catalyst that led to this point. This past year I've started my own business and it's really taking off and so requires much of my time. It's a very exciting new direction for me. I could never keep up with the email that this site generates, and I'm certain that this led to frustration and resentment for my readers. Yes, it's true that in PatsyLand there are certain ongoing frustrations, i.e. pervasively resistant attitudes towards progress, the betrayals, and the lack of leadership. The endless story of Patsifans' Adventures in PatsyLand/Through the Looking-Glass certainly leads a Patsifan to re-evaluate how one's time, energy, money, and emotion is spent. Life is just too short.

I'm done.

Sure, it woulda been nice to post all of my collection, to create all of the PatsyToons I had in mind, all of the fun Patsy Games I was working on. But there are only 72 hours in a day (right?) and there are simply some things in PatsyLand that aren't going to happen. Period.

I'll certainly miss the hilarious emails, thoughtful letters, erotic photos, marriage proposals, and anthrax-laced packages I've received from Patsified! readers over the years. I haven't updated much at all this past year, yet the site still gets about 2000 visitors daily! That's an amazing testament to the talent and legacy of Virginia Hensley.

In the meantime, life is calling and I'm "movin' along."
