Imagine That...! Patsy was guest teacher for a day in a Nashville elementary school in 1962. The lucky 4th grade students loved Miss Cline ~ she was a barrel of laughs, and drew kooky sketches on the chalkboard. Her math lesson involved simple percentages: "If I don't get but 3 cents out of an 89-cent record sale, what percentage of that sale does my contract stipulate, and how can I cancel the contract?" For the science lesson, Patsy discussed her experiences with snakes. The music lesson was divine, as you can imagine. However, her flawed grammar lesson (see above photo) landed her into a confrontation with the principal, forcing her to leave early because, let's face it, honey, she WAS the best damndest singer who ever walked the face of the earth!

Imagine That...! Patsy and her twin, Ginny, were once selected for a Doublemint ad in the early 60s! Don't they look terrific 'n sporty? (I wonder which one of them was the "evil" twin?!) It's terrific to hear them sing together on songs such as "How Can I Face Tomorrow?" "Crazy Dreams," and "Who Can I Count On?"

Patsy did a cameo role on "I Love Lucy" in the infamous candy factory scene. Imagine That...! Patsy played the supervisor who, upon witnessing Lucy and Ethel's extraordinary abilities at wrapping candy, shouted, "Speed it up, girls!" Unfortunately, Nick at Nite hasn't been showing the Patsy version, and it frustrates me deeply. I did manage to snag a photo, though:

At one point, Desilu offered Patsy her own show, but as you well know, she WAS the best damndest singer who ever walked the face of the earth ~ who needs a TV show with a voice like that?!
