On Sunday, September 15, 1957 Virginia P. H. Cline married Charles A. Dick:
The day was warmer than expected. About 50-70 friends and family gathered that afternoon in Hilda Hensley's new home at 720 S. Kent St., which Patsy had recently purchased for her. The living room was elegantly decorated.

The bridesmaids were Sylvia Hensley (Patsy's sister) and Patsy Lillis (Patsy's best friend and maid of honor). They are wore dark blue cotton/silk dresses with blue hats, white accessories, and white carnations. All of the ladies' dresses that day had been purchased in Winchester from Phillip's Specialty Shop (located at 9 North Loudon Street).
The bride (who'd just celebrated her 25th birthday exactly one week ago), wore a 2-piece blue knit suit with a tea-length skirt , a large white orchid corsage (of course), paisley-print high heels, a wide inverted bowl hat with sheaves of ostrich feathers, and pearl earrings. She was escorted by her brother Sam Hensley (also known as "John").

Charlie and PatsyThe Winchester Evening Star: "Given in marriage by her brother Sam L. Hensley, Mrs. Dick wore a light blue knit, two-piece dress, white hat and matching accessories. Her only ornaments were pearl earrings." And later, "Mrs. Dick attended Gore School and Handley High School and is a professional entertainer. She plans to continue with her singing career."
The couple was joined in marriage by the Rev. S.J. Goode (a family friend) of the Winchester Christian Church.

Patsy and Charlie's reception was held at the crepe-paper and gladioli-bedecked Mountain Side Inn (a.k.a. Burt's Club), a roadhouse on the outskirts of Winchester on Highway 50, near North Mountain, Virginia. The music was supplied by Amos Ted "Teddy" Whipp and His Dew Droppers.
Patsy changed into a cocktail dress with a high, black velveteen bodice and a white chiffon skirt. She wore her plastic high-heeled mules she loved so much and had worn on Arthur Godfrey's "Talent Scouts." Her pearl earrings were switched for her trademark dangling rhinestone earrings, and to complete the look, her white orchid bridal corsage was pinned to her bodice. Charlie changed into black pants for the reception.

According to Charlie's brother, Mel: "That day was just wonderful. They had two big bowls of punch for each family. Hers was mixed and my family's was not mixed 'cause my aunts said 'we can't go if you're going to have liquor there.' My family don't drink, not a drop, no one, except for Charles. It was their family that had the punch spiked. They had these two big bowls. I had this aunt who looked like a stovepipe. Stern. She got the bowls mixed up and she turned to my other aunt and said, 'Pauline, come have this punch. It's quite good.' She got quite tipsy."
Then under a shower of rice and best wishes, it's off to a new life together!
