HARD TO FIND CDs

The "Discovery!" CD

No one seems to carry this consistently in their stock these days, but here is the latest info on how you might be able to obtain it ~ remember, "Discovery!" contains 4 tracks that are NOT found on "Birth of a Star," as well as additional banter between Arthur Godfrey and Patsy that is not heard anywhere else! You need both "Birth of a Star" and "Discovery!" in your collection!

Music Searcher has it currently for $8.99.

United Kingdom: HMV lists 'Discovery!' in stock for �6.99, as well as many other CD's not available in the US.

Gemm has it at $10.96 and $14.99, but both sellers have just one star, so be careful!

US & Canada: Tower Records has it occasionally.

The CD has also been reissued in Europe as 'A Star Is Born,' but is sometimes referenced as 'Birth of A Star.'

The Country Radio Shows:

These are tricky to find.

Volume 1 is currently offered through Amazon in Great Britain at �8.99 for new, and used ones as low as �4.99. If you're not buying, click anyway -- there are Patsy samples from this radio show at the site! More samples from Volume 1 are at MusicMatch and at AllMusic. Another place to buy Volume 1 is MVC in Britain -- currently available for �7.49.

Volume 2 is listed at Amazon in Great Britain, but they currently have nothing in stock -- check back on this link from time to time to see if a used one becomes available. And hey, click on the link anyway to hear gorgeous samples from the radio show!

Bill Cox has found these CDs from time to time at Gemm. In the search field at the top of the screen, select "Title" and type in "Country Radio Shows." Click on "Search," and it will pull up a list of distributors.

And eBay is always a great place to hunt for things like this.
