"What if you slept? And what if, in your sleep, you dreamed? And what if, in your dream, you went to heaven and there plucked a strange and beautiful flower? And what if, when you awoke, you had the flower in your hand? Ah, what then?" ~ S. T. Coleridge |

From Lisa Flood: I was in a hotel room waiting for my Patsy pals Theresa and Chantel. Theresa had just won a rare LP at ebay, the existence of which had, until now, only been a rumor. It seems that an entire LP of Patsy's outtakes had been released during Patsy's lifetime! The name of the LP was inexplicably, "Meet the Dicks." On the cover was a photo of Patsy in the gold dress with Charlie. It was a very hazy and unremarkable photo. Needless to say, I was dying to hear these outtakes! In order to listen to the LP in the hotel room, I'd rented a turntable and speakers, and I was assembling it. The ladies arrived, and Chantel was amazed to see a turntable for the first time (in this dream, she was a teenager). Chantel had not heard the LP yet, but Theresa had. She said the LP was dynamite and couldn't wait to share it with us. The turntable was all put together (I particularly recall putting in the needle), and we played the LP. The first song was Patsy's first take of "Walkin Dream." At first it sounded pretty much like the original, but more straightforward and much less sassy, then when Patsy got to "Cause you're so dreamy, peach-and-creamy, walkin dream," Patsy forgot the words and just sang, "doo-doo-doo-doo walkin dream." It was really delightful and we all laughed. I woke up before I could hear any other such gems!

From Vanessa: I dreamt that I was at the Kansas City Show. I don't know if I was actually singing there or just going with one of the stars, but Patsy was sick and I was taking care of her. We went down to breakfast and learned the weather was bad and would probably be stuck there until it cleared. I wasn't riding with Patsy and Randy, but was supposed to fly back home and didn't want to in that weather. So that's when Dottie asked if Patsy and I wanted to ride back with her and Bill. We agreed and went to hurry and pack. I SWEAR I could see everything so clearly as if it were yesterday!!! I remember EXACTLY what everyone was wearing and even what the luggage looked like! Anyway, Patsy and I rode the elevator down to meet Dottie. When we got there, I got off the elevator first, and then without saying a word, Patsy pushed the door button, and as the doors were closing Dottie and I were saying, "Patsy! Are you OK? C'mon Hon what's wrong? Patsy!" And she sorta had this blank stare on her face as the doors closed. Dottie and I were puzzled but decided she must've changed her mind. So I did too. I hugged Dottie and Bill bye. I tried calling Patsy's room, but Randy answered and said she wasn't feeling well and was going to wait the weather out with them. I told him to tell her to get well and I'd call her later. So I got on the plane back home and that evening I had this strange feeling that something horrible happened and I thought immediately of Patsy. Something in my mind was telling me to check my luggage. I did and inside it was a note telling me she was glad I was her friend and that I shouldn't be afraid of flying, and not to be scared that what happened to her would happen to me. Well, in the dream I was confused, cause I couldn't figure out what she was talking about. Then the phone rang and it was Charlie telling me she didn't make it. The note suddenly made sense. But she put it in my luggage before the crash so it was like she KNEW it was going to happen. I was upset when I woke up, because I am flying home this weekend, it will be my first time to fly, and I am VERY scared. I figure it's Patsy's way of telling me I will be OK!

From Guy C.: Okay, I don't know what gives here, because I very seldom remember dreams, and now here's my second Patsy dream in a week (the last one before that was a couple of years ago). My wife and I were back at the Patsy Cline Restaurant, and this time we WERE being served, and Patsy was there singing for the crowd during dinner! She was wearing the gold/black "Carnegie Hall" dress. At the end of her set, she joined our table for a chat! There were others there, but I can't remember who they were.
Anyway, I pulled out this beautiful picture of Patsy (the same one on my homepage, only it was unsigned), and asked Patsy to autograph it, which she did graciously. She signed it, "To Guy, thanks for everything Hoss! Love, Patsy" (not Love, Patsy Cline, just Love, Patsy!) Then my wife asked her to sing "A Poor Man's Roses" when she got back on stage (that happens to be my wife's favorite Patsy song) and Patsy of course obliged. The dream went on and on with Patsy continuing to sing, and it seemed like this dinner lasted for hours and hours -- until I woke up! Now this is not only the most vivid Patsy Cline dream I've ever had, it's probably the most vivid dream I've ever had, period, at least that I can remember.
Almost makes me want to go to sleep again!

From Theresa S.: I dreamt that my mom and me were in Nashville, visting some museum, and there were all these exhibits of all these gowns worn by famous country singers, and NONE for Patsy. The displays were wonderful, each with a gorgeous mannequin, in a scene from that singer's life. You got to sit down, and look, and then the actual artist herself would walk right out in the real gown, and talk to you. All the folks there were thrilled, but I sat there so angry and hurt, looking for Patsy. Then, beside all of that, was an exhibit of a kitchen (odd to be with all those fancy gowns), and it was just there, empty, with no one in it. Then, a person comes out and says, "This is Patsy's exhibit, and instead of coming out to model a gown, if she were here, she'd come right in and cook you all dinner." I just sat and cried, and sobbed my damned heart out. It is so true, though, Patsy wouldn't be bothered caperin' around for fans, she'd whip up some fried chicken and mashed potatoes, and sit right down with you!! God!!! That just smashed the sense of loss of the person that I long for right into my heart. Maybe this one was a reminder of what Patsy really is about to us. While the others have their gowns on display, Patsy had her heart on display. Hmmmm...... Then, the dream goes on to me trying to tape a Patsy documentary, and I can't do it, no matter how hard I try, and I'm cryin', swearin', etc... Then, thankfully, I woke up!.

From Lisa Flood: A man came to me. "Excuse me, ma'am, but I need your help." "Yes?" "I need your help getting the word out through your website." So what was this, another Patsy tribute singer's manager? "Get the word out about what?" He seemed a bit nervous. "Well, I don't know how to explain this, but I'm from the other side. Patsy sent me here, she couldn't make it herself. She said that you wouldn't mind your site being used for this, if I told you it was for her." Hmm, a flake? Maybe, maybe not. He didn't look like a ghost, just a middle-aged man dressed in a simple coat and knit cap.
"What does Patsy want?" I asked, still skeptical. "She said she can't stand listening to it anymore, it makes her heart ache. The wailing from the children particularly." This caught me off guard. "Huh? What do you mean?" He explained. "Whatever people are feeling on Earth, it resonates up here as a sound. Happiness from Earth fills us with joy, but the sound of misery and cold is very painful for us to hear. You see, when a child is cold or hungry, even if he doesn't say anything, his heart wails a mournful tune on the inside, and we hear it magnified a hundredfold on the other side. There are so many people who are so cold at this time of year in the part of Earth where Patsy and I are from, that the sound up here is unbearable. Patsy said she particularly can't bear to hear the wailing from so many children that are cold. Could you please spread the word to the other fans to do whatever they can to get gloves and scarves and caps to people who are cold, but especially to the children? Patsy desperately wants this, her heart is aching. She said she could count on her fans." Before I could say a word to this man, I woke up. (Now, I dunno about y'all, but I've got some shopping to do for the local shelter...!)

From Chantel: I dreamed that I was sitting outside on someone's backyard patio and I was in a place that I didn't recognize. I remember looking around and there were railroad tracks nearby, but that's all I remember about the outside of the house. The next thing I remember is that I was INSIDE the house and sitting on the floor looking at a scrapbook with Patsy right in front of me. It was weird because in this dream, she looked very real and I could see every detail of her face, etc. Her husband Charlie was sitting beside me, and he and Patsy were all dressed up like they were going somewhere. I was flipping through this scrapbook of Patsy's and asked her about a certain picture. It was a picture of her performing with a band, but I didn't know where it was taken. She was kind of looking out a window while we were talking, looking off into the distance, and it seemed like she had her mind on something else. But she said, "It was taken right over there, on the roof of ----" I can't remember now where she told me it was taken, but I remember being surprised that it was taken on a roof. Anyway, that's about all I can remember about this dream, but it was very very real. I woke up and felt like I really had visited with Patsy! Sometimes I wonder if I was dreaming about Winchester. Are there railroad tracks there near where Patsy lived? I've never been there.

From Theresa: I was watching the "Remembering Patsy" video, and the clip where she's singing "San Antonio Rose" was on, and she was wearing one of her lacey dresses, and just looking great. Well, in the dream, she stops singing, and just starts smiling and laughing, like someone's just told her the funniest joke she ever heard!! She looked so sweet just standing there laughing, shaking her head, and wiping her eyes! Then, she stepped right out of the TV screen, and began walking toward me, still laughing and shaking her head. Funny thing was, that even though she was out of the TV, she was still black and white!! Just as she got to where I was sitting, I woke up. I would have LOVED to have stayed asleep to find out what was so funny. What a GREAT, adorable laugh she had going on, it was straight from the heart. Love ya, Patsy.

From Brian: I was in the middle of a restaurant and had ordered a plate of eggs and bacon, and for some reason I couldn't find the salt shaker, and there were no waitresses. I cannot eat eggs without salt. So then after sitting there for a while, Patsy appeared before me and said, "Are you gonna eat them damn eggs, or not?" I told her I needed salt and she proceeded to dig in her purse for some salt packets. She then found some and handed it to me. She then told me about some guy who'd tried to steal her purse, and about some chicken that had its wing cut off when she was a child and she never liked chicken after that. Then she got up to leave and said, "Well hon, I gotta run. I am late for my beauty appointment and I'm supposed to get a permanent today." Talk about a CRAZY dream!

From Lil Texas Gal: Patsy was going to come back to earth for one night to see her fans, but then had to go back to Heaven. Well I got in line, and wouldn't ya know, I was last! I finally got up there, and I couldnt talk!!! Patsy winked, threw her head back and just laughed! It was such a GREAT laugh! Then she said, "I know, Hoss, and I love you too! Now you tell Theresa the same! Well, the angel choir is waitin on me, they just can't get along without The Cline! Now you remember, I'm a-watchin you and I'm always with you!" She hugged me and then just vanished! I woke up so sad and happy!

From Vanessa: I am really into the old country music and have always been sorta drawn to the Ryman Auditorium. Well, the other night, I had a dream I was walking down 5th St. in Nashville beside the Ryman. It was dark and the place was closed, but I heard someone calling me from inside, so I went in. I sat down inside and was the only one there. Then the OLD Grand Ole Opry started. Out came Roy Acuff and Minnie Pearl, I saw Hank, and Marty and Ernest Tubb, Jim Reeves, Faron Young, all those greats that we lost. Well, Patsy was the grand finale. The stage went black except fot the spotlight that was on her. She wore a paisley print dress with an orchid pinned to the front. She sang "Sweet Dreams" and I sat there in awe of her. When she finished, she smiled and gave me a little wave, and the spotlight went out. I woke up shaking and couldn't go back to sleep. She was really something!

From Theresa: I dreamt that I was sitting in a room with Patsy, which was probably an airport, but the surroundings were very vague. However, Patsy herself was extremely clear, and I could see every detail of her face so very clearly. We were sitting side by side, and we weren't saying much to each other at all. We both knew that she was about to get on THE plane, and knew what was about to happen to her. She was very calm, and rather solemn, as was I. She just sat there holding my hand, then stood up, took off the silver necklace that she was wearing, brought it to her lips, then put it in my hands without speaking. I hugged and kissed her, and then she walked out of the room. Through the window, I could see her getting on the plane, and then she was gone. What was amazing about it was that while I was very sad, I wasn't really afraid, or hysterical, or trying to stop her. It was as if we both just knew it had to be, and we said our goodbyes quietly. Perhaps the dream was to provide some more comfort about what happened, and that it was meant to be, and that she's OK. I'm conviced that Patsy only visits our dream worlds to make us feel better, because good was all she was ever made for.

From Lisa Flood: Went back in time to Patsy's era. Patsy was going to be performing all summer at this little resort town. A friend and I were in charge of making sure that Patsy had everything she needed. The friend kind of looked like Mary Klick, Patsy's friend. We waited and waited for Patsy to arrive, but never saw her. Then someone said she had already arrived and had been put into one of the cottages at the edge of the property. My friend and I were horrified, because that was NOT a safe area, and those cottages in that area were not the best. We walked towards that area, but didn't know which cottage they'd actually put Patsy in. We hunted and hunted and finally heard Patsy singing in one of them! Just singing as she was unpacking. It was amazing, and very real. While we waited for her to come out, one of her bodyguards said that Patsy was going through an extremely nervous time, very high strung and talkative. She was writing letters to her friends on anything she could get her hands on, including Tootsie Pop wrappers. She'd write the notes on the wrappers then wrap the pops back up and mail them to her friends. The bodyguard showed me a fistful of Tootsie Pops that Patsy was sending him to mail for her. I was kind of worried about Patsy, she didn't seem to be getting very good care, but my friend and I resolved ourselves then and there to make sure that she was put into the nicest cottage for the summer AND that she'd have plenty of time to relax. I never saw Patsy in this dream, only heard her singing!

From Theresa: I dreamt that Patsy was in a store behind a counter with a lot of space behind it, so the band was there too. She was in one of her cowgirl outfits, and was singing. On the counter, there was an old fashioned balance scale. Before each song, I had to put a weight on the scale before she would sing. The sound/tone that the weight made on the scale determined the key of the song she would sing. She would stand there and wait for me to put the weight on, nod, smile, and sing. Afterwards, she and the guys were packing up to leave, and I gathered the guts to go talk to her, while my husband stood and waited. Well, we hit it off like 2 old hens, and talked a blue streak! We talked about everything imaginable!! I could hear us talking perfectly, and her voice was so sweet. Then, it was time to go.... She hugged me, and stepped back, still holding on to my hands and said: "Hey, wait a minute, I've never smelled that kind of perfume you're wearin' before, you're not from here; not from this time, are you?" I said: "No, I came to tell you not to get on that plane on March 5, 1963, please, Patsy, listen to me!" The weird part is that when I said that, my mouth was moving, but no sound was coming out, although the audio was perfect a minute before. She just stood there holding my hands, cocking her head to the side and smiling. At the same time, one of the guys in the band looked over at me very sadly and said to me: "She is not to hear that, she is not to know." As I started to protest, Patsy hugged me and kissed me on the cheek and said: "Hoss, it's OK, I'll be fine. Now, we’ll keep in touch, hear?" As I started to cry and back away, she grabbed my hands once more, winked and nodded. I woke up with the smell of her Wind Song perfume so strong in my nose that it was overwhelming. Y'all, I've been wandering through the morning with tears in my eyes. I’m holed up in my office with the door closed cryin’ right now while writing this. I guess all I can say is that you really can't stop what's meant to be, no matter how much it hurts, and that now I believe that Patsy is really OK. I know this dream may sound really out there, but it's the God's honest truth, I swear.... Love you, Patsy

From Lisa Flood: Just a brief dream about Patsy. Bill Cox and I were at a live stage show (not a concert, it was a dramatic play) sitting on the front row and we knew Patsy was going to be making her entrance at any moment, so we were excited. When she came onstage and began acting her role, he and I both whispered, man, she is GORGEOUS, because in this dream she looked stunningly beautiful. Interestingly, the dream was black and white, and I almost always dream in color. Patsy was dressed in her gold dress, though. I'll never forget how beautiful her eyes looked, such deep brown!

From Theresa: I must have been thinking about Patsy's appearance on American Bandstand before going to sleep, because I dreamt that I was somehow listening to an LP, and watching a video that went with it. In the black and white video, there was a group of stars, including Patsy, sitting in bleachers, each waiting his or her turn to go down to the mike and sing. I watched Patsy sit in the bleachers, in a dress with sequins, laughing and talking with the other folks. Just when it was her turn to go to the mike, the record and video ended, and I saw that she was supposed to be on the next volume of this LP set. Of course, I didn't have it, and it was impossible to find. I was so frustrated and angry, since the next LP playing was the one after Patsy, so there was no way that I could see her sing. In the dream, I was walking around crying, with just the snippet of her laughing in the bleachers in my mind. Then, I got this petition going demanding the missing LP and video. Unfortunately, I woke up before the end....

From Bill Cox: It was January 2003. The Grand Ole Opry was back for its annual winter stint at the Ryman Auditorium, and Patsy was making her "comeback" appearance on the Opry. A group of Patsifans who chat regularly on the 'net, including me, Lisa Flood, Sue Bee, Guy Cesario, Sue Wilden and Mark Willix, decided that this was the perfect time for all of us to meet. So, we had coordinated motels and tickets, and there we all sat (with our partners) on the front pews waiting for the show to begin.
Lorrie Morgan came out into the audience to chat. Lorrie and I were talking about her Dad, George Morgan, and I was telling Lorrie how all of us knew each other and why we were there. Also, I told her how we would love to go backstage for a few minutes. Lorrie told me how that Opry management was limiting the number of backstage guests because of the media crews on hand for Patsy's appearance, but that she would see if she could do something.
Lorrie came back a few minutes later and said she could take only one of us backstage. Even though Lisa, Sue Bee, Mark and Guy were dying to go, they graciously offered me the chance. Lorrie took me backstage, and the celebrities who were there were mindboggling. Loretta, Reba, Trisha, Martina, Garth, Vince, Alan J., even kd lang. All to see Patsy.
A few minutes later, the backdoor opens and in walks Patsy and Charlie, along with their daughter Julie, her husband and children. Patsy was wearing the gold dress from the "Faded Love" photo session, and was just stunning. She hadn't aged a day. The crowd was in a frenzy, and was pushing in toward Patsy. Still, Charlie, who knows me from the annual fan club gatherings in Winchester, saw me and said "Bill! I've got someone here I'd like you to meet" (referring to Patsy).
Next thing I know, I'm back in my seat out front. The curtain is closed, and Opry Announcer Eddie Stubbs is doing a radio commercial for Coca-Cola. Then he begins his introduction of Patsy by reading her lists of hits and achievements. Next, Eddie says, "Ladies and Gentlemen, please make welcome for her first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry since February 1963, the legendary Miss Patsy Cline."
The curtain rises, and Patsy is standing at the center mic. The crowd is on its feet immediately. Behind Patsy, instead of the usual house band and the Carol Lee Singers, are the remaining members of the "A" Team and The Jordanaires. Patsy thanks everyone for their love and support over the years, and launches into "Who Can I Count On?", which had been rewritten as a "Thank You" to her fans.
Ahhh! If only such dreams could come true.

From Annette: I dreamt that I lived with a man who was a real monster. He was gruff and mean, and in the dream, I had offended him in some way, so I knew that he was going to take all of my Patsy Cline CDs and throw them out the window into oncoming traffic. Before he came into the room, I quickly opened all of the CD cases and began hiding the CDs in my clothes -- like down my shirt, in my pants, in my sweater sleeves. He came storming into the room, and sure enough, he began throwing those empty cases from the window to the road below, where cars were smashing them. I grabbed my keys, and ran out the door to my car, jumped in and sped away, driving and happily removing the CDs from my clothes. I popped one in the stereo (too bad I can't recall which song it was) and drove off into the sunset listening to Patsy! Now the strange thing about this dream was that I awoke and was thinking it over, when my husband suddenly awakened with a start. (My husband really isn't a monster, like that guy in the dream -- he's a gentle soul.) He asked me, very sleepily, if I had just gone downstairs and put a Patsy Cline song in the CD player. He said that as he was sleeping, it felt like I had left the bed, and then he suddenly heard Patsy singing, but he couldn't recall the song. Bizarre, isn't it?!

From a Patsifan: I was in the park sitting on a bench alone after I had lost my mother. I felt someone put their arm around me, as I turned to look, it was Patsy. She asked, "What's wrong?" and I I told her about my mom. She smiled and said, "Your mother is watching you from heaven. She has asked me to tell you that she loves you very much." Then Patsy began to sing "Crazy," and I felt at peace inside to hear her sing. She hugged me and said "No more tears," and I woke up with tears in my eyes.

From Theresa: This one is really odd, the first Patsy dream I ever had, just had it last nite. I went to visit an elderly woman with a friend, and the woman was Patsy, she was very old, but still moved with grace. She was very friendly, but refused to sing, because her voice was papery thin. I sat on the couch across from her, just wishing that she would sing one line. I put my head down, and when I looked up, she was young again, smiling at me and began to sing. I started to cry in the dream, and she asked me why. I told her that it was because she sang to me. I woke up with tears in my eyes.... It was really amazing, I wish the alarm wouldn't have gone off this morning.... Luv ya Patsy.

From Bill Cox: I read a news story last week that Coke was going to test a "Vanilla Coke" brand in select markets to go along with Cherry Coke. For whatever reason, this stuck in my head and "mated" with Patsy. I had a dream that I was buying groceries, was looking at the Coke section checking out their new flavors: "I Fall To Pieces," "Crazy" and "Sweet Dreams." Patsy was offering samples of the new flavors. "Sweet Dreams" was fruity, "Crazy" was double the caffeine and double the sugar. I never got to taste "I Fall To Pieces," but I heard it tasted "exotic." I'll have to watch what I eat and drink before going to bed from now on.

From Anonymous: One of the dreams I had about Patsy was about five weeks ago. I was sitting on my deck watching my grandfather and this other woman marry. This woman had a black mask on her face, and I couldn't identify who it was because I could only see her eyes. All of a sudden, everything became perfectly clear and the lady took off her mask and it was Patsy. I don't remember much about the dream after that, but I know they had a wedding reception afterwards and Patsy motioned me to come over. Boy talk about crazy dreams.
